Safeguarding

Admin —  October 29, 2013

Safeguarding (sometimes called child protection) is a word that means keeping people safe. It is something we take very seriously as we have a legal responsibility to ensure everyone we have contact with is free from harm.

As a church, we have a Safeguarding Policy (a statement of what we aim to do), a Safeguarding Procedure (a document explaining how we will do things if we believe someone is at risk of harm), and a Code of Conduct (what we expect from everyone working with us). In addition we have other relevant documents including Anti-bullying and Participation policies.

We are also committed to good practice and completed the SQP Gold Award in July 2013. SQP is a quality assurance self assessment programme for voluntary and community (VCS) organisations working with children and young people. The award gives people the confidence to know that we have been externally evaluated and have a good standard of care.
