4M Extreme Character Challenge

Admin —  August 17, 2017

4MUK’s next XCC is in Wales, Thursday 12th – Sunday 15th October.

‘Decision Time’ is a Mind, Body & Soul Adventure for men connected to church who want to go deeper in faith and value inspiration.

The XCC is set up like one endless day as an active and challenging endurance event for men, out in the wild. For 72 hours men are confronted with significant physical challenges, deep camaraderie and profound moments of moral and spiritual input. Through this process they find perspective, evaluate who they are and find a purpose worth living for.

Are you looking for a challenge? Are you ready to live for purpose? It’s time to change. It’s time to become the man you were made to be.

Upwards of 30 men from Arun Church have taken part in an XCC over the past three years. Many of them have told stories of how they have been challenged to live life to the full and as a result have been changed forever. NOW is YOUR time.

Please speak to Stew Smith for further details, watch this video or pick up a flyer at the Info Point.

Click here to sign up, follow the Adventure tab on the main menu.

Arun Church Football Club

As some of you will know there is now an Arun Church FC team playing in the local league next season. They have played a couple of friendlies in the build up to the league starting in September. Laurie Mellor has written a report of their recent match:

ARUN CHURCH FC 3 – 4 ST PETER’S (BRIGHTON)
14th August at Highdown

A hard fought friendly against our coastal neighbours saw us lose narrowly, but gaffer Jamie Mellor was pleased with our performance. We looked well organised with Ben Young and Dan Ambrose in midfield, the latter being Jamie’s Man of the Match. Aaron Wade scored a 25 yard screamer and debutant left back Rob Rixon made an impressive debut with a well-directed headed goal. Once again Harry Jupp looked neat and composed at right back, Ben Ansell having his usual solid performance in the heart of the defence.

Both sides shattered the stereotype of the caricature vicar with bulging Adam’s apple drinking lemonade: the game was quite physical at times! As the team toughen up in preparation for their first league season, starting in mid-September, it was great to see the lads so well supported. Please continue to get behind the team – both by spectating and in prayer. Entering a local football league is such an easy, natural way of being involved in the community, as with predecessors Arun Wanderers cricket team.
