We are delighted to announce that Joe Gisbey will be taking on the leadership of Links International in April this year, as its new CEO.
Links International was established in 1985 by Norman & Grace Barnes as a way of helping the world’s poor help themselves out of poverty. Originally based in Essex the offices were moved to Rustington in 2003. In 2006 Rich Hubbard became a Co-Director alongside Norman, having been involved with Links since 1998. A year later he became CEO with Norman as a Co-Director. Norman officially retired from Links in 2008. When Rich passed away in 2010 Andy Read became CEO.
Andy Read now writes:
“In March this year I reach a landmark birthday, as I reach 60. Not old by today’s standards (honestly!) but a significant milestone nonetheless. Perhaps more importantly, it coincides with what I (and others) perceive to be a significant time for Links International. It feels like the stage is set for greater growth and development – a tipping point. As I have thought, prayed and dialogued with the Links Board and trusted friends, over many months, I have become more and more convinced that the time is right to hand over the reins to a younger man, with a different gift set to my own. That man is Joe Gisbey.
“Many of you will know Joe already. He was actually involved with Links more than 10 years ago, before taking some time out to church plant in Colombia with his wife Carolina for a couple of years. He is a fantastically gifted and anointed man, with a heart for the world. He carries the Links DNA – in fact, even before I became CEO, Joe was helping to shape that DNA generic singulair. When I took on the leadership of Links I had a great sense of peace that, although it was a time of great upheaval, I was the right person for the hour. I have every confidence now that Joe is now the man for the new hour in which we stand.”
Joe currently works three days a week for the church, which will reduce to two days in April. Let us pray for Joe in this new role and all the work Links International is involved in around the world.
