The following people celebrate their birthday this week: Mary Jones, Bruce Gazzard, Jessica Oliver, Audrey Buckland, and Karen Green. Happy Birthday everyone!
This week we welcome Jake Thom into Membership of the Church:
My name’s Jake, I live in Chichester, and I’ve been part of ACC since September last year. I’ve been a Christian all my life and was raised in a Christian family – my late Grandfather, John Barr, had a prophetic ministry (supported by my Dad) which saw tens of thousands of lives transformed by the power and love of God.
However, a family breakup when I was 12 meant that I was out of church and became very distant from God, until last year when Norman Barnes (a close friend of my Grandad’s), via mentoring, suggested I took the Alpha course. In hindsight this was one of the greatest decisions I’ve ever made! I then felt so buzzed from the Alpha course that I went on to be baptised on 22nd November 2015.
I’ve since been faced with challenges that have tested my strength and relationship with God, but by keeping my eyes fixed on Jesus, and by putting God before anyone and everything, I’m evidently reaping back the benefits of taking this stand point.
On the 27th February Jo Williams will be taking part in the Littlehampton Sponsored Sleepout 2016 organised by Worthing Churches Homeless Projects. “I will be sleeping in my very own put-together cardboard shelter for the night – with lots of warm layers, to raise money and help those in our community in their recovery out of homelessness to a brighter future. If you would like to show your support, please go to Homeless sleepout where you can leave a donation. Thank you.” Jo Williams
