Baptisms will be taking place as part of our service on Sunday 29th March. This is always a time of celebration, when people tell their stories about how they became Christians and are then baptised.

Some frequently asked questions are:

  • What do I have to do to be baptised?
We baptise anyone over the age of 13 if they have become Christians and follow Jesus.
  • Why do you have to be 13 or over?
The Bible says ‘believe and be baptised’ and so we want it to truly be someone’s choice and feel that 13 is a good age to make a free choice.  We still think children can become Christians at any age, and realise this is a church guideline. It’s not in the Bible.
  • I have become a Christian but I don’t think I’m good enough to be baptised.
No-one is perfect, nor will we ever be, being baptised is not about being perfect, it is publicly saying you are making a choice to follow Jesus.
  • I was christened as a baby – do I need to be baptised?
We welcome anyone who has become a Christian to be baptised, even if you have been christened.

Please speak to Becca if you would like to be baptised, or if you have any further questions.
