As many of you will be aware a trip to Uganda is being planned from 6th – 15th April 2015, in partnership with Links International. The purpose of the trip is to visit the organisation Wellspring Uganda, with the possibility of a day trip to the Watoto project in Kampala.
Wellspring is a multi-faceted mission centre in Uganda working to develop communities in all areas of life. They do this in a number of ways, including raising up Christian leaders, church planting and partnerships, business development (Micro Enterprise), healthcare, education and creative/income generating projects.
Watoto is a holistic care programme, initiated as a response to the overwhelming number of orphaned children and vulnerable women in Uganda due to the civil war. Their motto is to ‘rescue, raise and rebuild’, working in areas such as physical care, medical intervention, education, trauma counselling and discipleship.
Joe and Carolina Gisbey will be leading the team and taking their children along with them. They are looking for team members who are willing to be flexible and get involved with church/evangelistic ministry, children’s ministry, and/or community development. The most important requirement is a teachable attitude, humble heart and willingness to make a difference, and to show God’s love to the people you come in contact with. Support and orientation will be provided, and leaders and partners will be there to guide the teams. This trip connects with children on many levels so Joe & Carolina would love the team to be made up of parents and children.
If you would like to find out more please talk to Joe Gisbey.
