The following people have asked to become committed members of the church:

Bex GrovesHey all at ACC, my name is Bex Groves-Excell, I’m 20 years old and currently study PE at The University of Chichester.

I have been coming to Arun since I was 2, when my mum first joined. I have grown up within the church, attending all the children’s groups, going to Soul Survivor and then becoming a leader and volunteer for these groups myself.

I was baptised at the age of 14 whilst I was at The Angmering School. My time at secondary school was not the easiest, and whilst I was bullied there my faith only grew stronger. God has blessed me greatly, especially in my darkest times. He has surrounded me with irreplaceable friendships and role models within the church, who show me huge love and support.

The next step in my journey is to become an official member of this wonderful church.

10402462_636754159773172_6059288207356757974_nHi, I’m Ben Burt. My hometown is Storrington, and I was brought up in a Christian family that attended Storrington Community Church until I was about 17.

When I was 15 I went on a two week mission trip to South Africa with my church youth group. We helped with programmes run by the YWAM base near Capetown. It was on that trip that I first saw how God works in people’s lives and the way He helps in the most desperate situations! Soon after I returned I got baptised along with most of my youth group.

Once I finished college I trained for a year as an Outdoors Activity Instructor with a Christian organisation in Scotland called Abernathy, then moved to another Christian organisation called Rock UK to be an Activities Instructor in Tonbridge for two years. Those three years were some of these best I’ve experienced, being able to see God’s creation first hand every day, and being able to see him introduced to hundreds of young people.

In August I came back to West Sussex and started my new job with the Youth Offending Service. The role has been challenging but very enjoyable. Soon I will be getting married to Becky Smith and I’m hugely looking looking forward to what God has planned for us in Rustington, in our jobs and our church!

Hello, my name is Becky Smith. I was born in Enfield, and we moved down to Rustington when I was 5 years old. I’ve been brought up in a Christian family and since moving here we’ve always attended Arun Community Church.

I’ve loved growing up in such a wonderful church community and being surrounded by those who will encourage you to grow even further in life. I’ve loved being apart of the youth group here and watching many friends grow in their faith and God opening up so many opportunities.

During the summer holidays, the youth group would go to a camp called “Soul Survivor” (eeeekkkk, camping!!!!) and it was there where I felt as though God really spoke to me about what I should do and where I should go… it was then that I decided to get baptised along with Holly Harsant and Holly Heath. Words can’t describe the emotion of our baptism day, it was just beautiful and really exciting! God is good!

I attended Worthing college and studied English, Dance and Art and somehow managed to pass! I then went on to work at the Wickbourne Playcentre Nursery and have been for the past 3 years. It’s such a rewarding job and those children are very precious.

In 2012 I met Ben Burt (woohoo!!) who I’ll be marrying in April. He’s awesome! I am so excited about getting married and what God has planned for us as Mr and Mrs Burt. Ben and I would love to make Arun Community Church our home.
