Many of you will be aware that we have recently been reviewing the organisational structure of the church.
In February we had some outside help to assist us in auditing and reviewing our staff roles, and as a result it was clear that we needed to appoint a Business Manager across the whole organisation. Jon Jolly was interviewed and appointed to this role in June, and consequently David Thatcher is stepping down from his part-time role as Wickbourne Manager.
Part of this restructure has also involved reviewing the way we work in the Rustington office. After much consultation and with approval from the Board of Trustees, we have this week taken the difficult decision to make the Office Manager position redundant. This is a role that Sue Moss has faithfully fulfilled for many years.
We are so grateful to Sue for all she has contributed to the staff team, and making her position redundant has been an incredibly hard thing to do. Sue has an amazing attitude to learning new things and has been a great support to all those in the office. Those of you who have had contact with the church office will know how supportive and welcoming Sue has been. We want to honour her, thank her, and ask you all to support her at this difficult time.
We now plan to create two different part-time jobs based in the office. One will be a receptionist downstairs in the shop-front, while the other will be to oversee our increasing media and communications across the church (including the website, video, photography, publicity, social media and other aspects of communication).
Thank you for your continued support as we move forwards.
