Arun Wanderers CC v Littlehampton CC 16th June

Arun Wanderers lined up their new-look younger team to face arch rivals Littlehampton CC.

L’a batted first and our bowlers bowled as per captain’s orders and kept the run rate down. A few dropped catches apart, we bowled & fielded well (shout out to Jordan and Patrick who bowled the first 10 overs for 26 runs and to Adam Groussin who held onto a catch that would have tested many a professional).

We reached 200 with 3 wickets in hand but a late bowling change by L’a cut through our tail – and despite a good little knock by Adam Groussin (including his first 4 for the team) we came up ONE run short

A great game played in the true spirit of cricket – with Littlehampton’s best batsman voluntarily retiring unbeaten on 50 being just one example of the way the game was being played.

Roll on next week away at Rustington (2pm start for all you avid cricket fans).
